Quickstart

Your first steps with Smode

Please consult the Requirements and Installation pages first.
  1. Install the latest version of Smode, or check for updates (see Installation above). It’s recommended to use the latest stable version to access all the new features and bug fixes.
  2. Start Smode: Make sure you have an active license (or dongle with license) if you’re using Smode Compose or Smode Live.
  3. Homepage:
    • Import a Media Directory: Media Directories Where you can find all your content media Read More are shortcuts to local hard drive locations.       You can also add a new Media Directories Where you can find all your content media Read More at this step by right clicking and selecting 'Add media directory' :
  4. Once you have a Smode Compo Composite 2D Layer, Shape layer and 3D Layer together. [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [N] to create a new composition after opening Smode Read More or Project Define a full project with content, 3D stage and video mapping pipeline Read More running, check that you have the correct Requested Framerate. You can change it from the GPU Memory Meter Displays the ratio of graphics memory used to the available memory Read More on the bottom right of the UI:
    Or from the Preferences Smode Preferences panel Read More panel:
    It should be the same as your display frequency (Hz), which is set in the Nvidia Control Panel . Also check in the Project Define a full project with content, 3D stage and video mapping pipeline Read More Parameters that this project is using the same Time Base:
