“After 15 years in business, more than 400 success stories in fixed-installation, broadcast/xR and rental-staging applications, and offices in France, the UK and Japan, it’s time for us to take SMODE technology to an even wider audience at the leading pro-AV trade show,” comments Francis Maes, CEO of Smode Tech.
By harnessing the power of real-time compositing (as opposed to static, pre-rendered video content), SMODE enables industry professionals of all stripes to unleash their creativity on visual projects of any size or complexity. It is the perfect tool for live shows and other visually striking fixed installations, for example – offering all of the flexibility required to manage events at venues including theme parks, domes, music venues, exhibition rooms, auditoriums, conference rooms, casinos, digital art centres and museums.

Smode Tech will share its booth with Naostage, having been invited to power the stand with the SMODE platform. Bringing unparallelled flexibility and fast artistic decision-making capabilities, SMODE’s workflow will help to demonstrate the creative potential of Naostage’s live tracking system by bringing to life immersive visuals from digital artist Maotik, coupled with regular interactive dance performances.
“One of SMODE’s strengths is its ability to support leading tracking systems such as Naostage’s new K SYSTEM, PosiStageNet, Free-D, stYpe and Mo-Sys to name a few, 3D engines including Unreal Engine and Notch, as well as industry standard network controllers, LTC/MTC clocks, DMX fixtures and show controllers,” continues Maes.

“On the stand, Naostage’s tracking data will be fed to SMODE, which will exploit the tracking info to generate real-time and interactive visual content,” he adds, explaining how the technical partnership will work at the show. “We will have six projectors for video mapping content – we intend to map a part of the floor through a path that leads to a wall, also mapped and with PiP features”. The whole visual content will be interactive and managed in real-time: This path goes around two commercial islands, as well as a chill space, which will allow discussion with visitors..
On the Smode Tech/Naostage stand, visitors will also discover SMODE’s latest version (v9.3), a major evolution of the platform which brings a new layer for real-time text processing and compositing, simplified network projects and customisation of workspaces amongst other useful advanced features.
