2D Generator - Extract the image from a Video Input Device Video Input Devices are used to capture video streams in Smode Read More
In order to enable a live video input, first you have to configure at least one video input device in the preferences of Smode.
To do this, go to EDIT > Preferences (F11)Edit Smode's Preferences , in Engine>Video Inputs , Add a device to the list, select the correct Device Identifier (a webcam or capture card) and press Apply Changes :
Once this is done, you can create a video input layer in your compo (right click > 2D Layers > Video Input) 2D Layers>Video Input . The status of the video input device is available in the Devices panel

Parameters
- Keep Last Image (On/off option) : if the Video Input Device Video Input Devices are used to capture video streams in Smode Read More don't receive any image keep the last image displayed or show alpha
- Sync Frame (On/off option) : this is used by the Multi Video Input Synchronizer When you have metadata, sync all video inputs based on the frame number (mainly for XR) Read More when you have metadata in the input
- Device (Video Input) : Select which Video Input Device Video Input Devices are used to capture video streams in Smode Read More to use
